Supplemental Food Assistance Program

Interested in applying for SNAP? Here’s what you should know.

If you are struggling to feed yourself and your family, we strongly encourage you to look into applying for SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. This federally funded program gives monthly food assistance to those in need. This assistance is distributed through an EBT card (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card, which you can use to easily purchase food at grocery stores, convenience stores, and even some farmer’s markets and co-op food programs. What Documents Do I Need for the Application? Make sure to try to have all of the following in hand for the application.
  • Proof of Income
  • Proof of Identity
  • Immigration and/or Naturalization Papers (when applicable)
  • Childcare expenses (when applicable)
Please see this page for more details on the documents you need to submit your application. Where Do I Apply? There are several ways you and your family can apply for SNAP. What if I Need More Information on SNAP? The Colorado Department of Human Services SNAP page covers everything you need to know, from application requirements, FAQs about EBT cards, information on what kind of food you can purchase with your EBT card, and more.
