If you, your group, school, business, or church would like to host a food drive, we can help!
Helpful Hints to Make Your Food Drive Successful
Thank you! You’ve agreed to host a food drive for Bienvenidos. We’re grateful. Here are some tips to make your food drive fun and successful.
- Start by setting a goal for your group or organization. According to the Department of Agriculture, 1.2 lbs of food equals one meal.
- Set up a small committee to plan logistics, timeline, and location.
- Find a great location. Target heavily-trafficked areas.
- Rally your volunteers and participants with a kick-off event.
- Get the word out via, email, text, Instagram & other social media. Document your progress with fun photos.
- Create a theme based on the time of year, a holiday, or season.
- Make it competitive. Encourage participants to form groups and give out prizes for the largest collections.
